 Post subject: Dawes wheel size?

1958(?) Dawes Merit Model,what is the correct wheel size 27*1 1/4 or 26 1 3/8?

If you have the frame it's pretty easy to measure from the dropout to the bottom of the brakes. Should be around 630mm for the 27".

Yeh that's what I did. From the dropout to the brake shoe at maximum adjustment it measures 13". I had assumed it was a 17" but now I think it is probably 16"! :facepalm:
