Panasonic PR 4000 - Release Date?

Hi!

I've just got a Panasonic PR 4000 frame and would like to know the release date.
My assumption is late 80's. Any Ideas how I can determine the release date?

It shows a lot resemblance wiith the PR-6000 frame. I think the PR-6000 was introduced for the 1990MY or late 1990.

The PR-4000 model is present in the 1991 and 1993 European catalog, but in another paintscheme.

I will have a look into the catalogs. Maybe it was not from Europe. The models and coloring of bikes differ sometimes from one country to another.

Whatever year it is, it is a very nice frame!

I am the happy owner of 2 PR-6000's myself. The 3rd bike under below link, John Talen's, is owned by forummember ededwards.

The PR6000 looks very nice as well! Nice contrast to my classic unicolored steel bikes

Do you know the total width of the BSA bearing?
I got the frame without bearing and don't know which size will fit for a normal 2times crankset. Maybe something between 107 and 110?

I use Dura-Ace 7400 cranks. From the top of my head that is 112mm. Shell width 68mm.

I consider using Ultegra or Dura Ace cranks as well.
