A club mate had one of those and after he replaced the bouncy forks he complained bitterly about comfort on longer runs. The alloy ones supplied with yours will transform the ride from harsh to harsher so better with a pair of carbons and a carbon seatpin. It will be rock solid on downhill stuff though.
Have fun building it - it seems to be in pretty good nick.
I would treat it to 9sp Chorus.
