First retro racer - Which is best...?

Hi guys, looking for my first racing/ road bike for nipping around town on. My budget is ~£60 so not a huge amount of choice but have seen 2 bikes which look ok. Now i dont know anything about bikes really so i was hoping you guys could tell me which one you think is best!

The first one is a Raleigh Routier. Dont know the year but this is it:

Good condition apparently.. Guy wants £60 for it

The second is a Raleigh Scorpio. Again I dont know the year but it this is it:

this one seems a bit rougher round the edges and will probs need a little tlc although nothing major. Im thinking this one will go for around £50-60

Which do you think is better? Also i'm 6'1''.. im thinking 22-24inches will be ok for me, does this sound about right?

Cheers!

EDIT: Cant get the pics to work for some reason but if you cut and paste into your browser it works :)

Ello,

I've a slight preference for the Routier because it seems to have a cotterless crankset (easier to remove if you want to change the cranks or service the bottom bracket), and aluminium rims (lighter and brake better in the wet).

Prices seem reasonable enough, although I imagine there are tons of these sorts of things lying around in peoples' shed, so ask around your mates or your mates' dads - you might find a bargain.

I'm also 6'1" and get on ok with frames between 56-58 cm.

Good luck,

Johnny

cheers Johnny. There is also a third option which is some random raleigh racer (seller doesnt know the model).

looks a large frame, and cranks appear to be cotterpinless. Is missing a front wheel so could possibly get this dirt cheap. Any idea what the model could be?

Just found my catalogue and it looks most like the Pulsar 10 speed ;)

Fine detective work sir! I gather the pulsar is a low end bike but would it make a reliable form of transport for around town?

That is the Team cadet 10 about the same spec as the Pulsar ;) How much are they asking :?:

asking price is £80 although i dont think i would pay more than £60 for it. What do you think its worth?
