Peugeot Bottom Bracket

I've recently bought an old Peugeot 'Super Competition' 531 frame & forks.
Serial No. stamped on the BB is B0065242
I can see that the drive side of the BB tightens clockwise....like an Italian BB but it's not 70mm.
Does anyone have any idea what size/type of BB this frame takes and/or is their a modern equivalent?

Thanks for that, very informative.
So, having trawled the internet, I see that there is a modern BB
made by Velo Orange that would appear to fit the bill.
Does anyone have any first hand experience of this make?

I dont personally have any Velo Orange stuff but what I have read it's very well made and usually expensive LOL
