Paintwork Problem

I have posted regarding this in another post but i guess a lot of people won't read to the bit where i mention paintwork.

I have a 29 yr old bike which has the usual scrapes and wear marks from cables etc. The most noticable mark is from where the pump was sited as this was used in the days before small pumps and canisters.

I touched the scrapes up with the Raleigh Oyster Touch-up Paint and, as i remember, i improved the look. Unfortunately, the years have caused the touch-up paint to become discoloured - going a yellowish tinge. I would like to remove this and perhaps re-treat the areas concerned. A full frame respray would obviously sort this out but after some advice, from here, i am thinking i might want to retain the original patina and 'battle scars' either way the touch-up paint is unsightly.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Cellulose thinners may take the old paint off, but it may also take the original paint too. Might be worth trying some on an ear bud.
