Can anyone recommend some shimano brake levers/shifters that will work with a 7-speed setup?

I know in mtb land a 7-speed thumbshifter can be made to work with 8-speed setup.

Does this mean any 8-speed shimano brifter will operate my 7-speed setup?[/list]

Shimano RSX STI levers came in 7-speed format. Failing that, Campag 9-speed pre-2001 Ergo levers will work with Shimano 7sp. kit, which is the set-up I have for the rear mech on my touring bike.
