a bike like this is a dream to me at the moment. i love the old bianchi frames.

question is, how often do you see these frames come up for sale?

im suspecting the answer will be "not very"

can anyone offer any insight?

It's like anything I imagine, once you start looking you find there are more about that you might think - whether you can afford one or not is another question

Searching ebay.it, ebay.fr, and finding the French and Italian
equivalents of gumtree/craigslist etc might turn something up.
The Italian site subito.it has some vintage bikes.

Just put your messages through google translate (and maybe have
a competent person check them over) and you're away.

Unfortunately, the rise of L'Eroica etc means you won't get so many real
bargains these days, but I did see some nice Legnanos and other
vintage bikes in need of restoration.

The alternative is to get in with your local cycling club or put it about among your friends and relations that you're into old bikes - the best way
to turn up bargains is when someone says 'yeah, I've got this
old steel piece of crap my grandad gave me, you can take it off my hands for £50'. It happens sometimes...

Good luck,

Johnny

Mmmm, now that IS nice! Everything in super condition too. Notice the 'integral' headset - nothing new in the world of bike design.
