How to make my bits shiny

Retro Newbie
I'd really like to make my old bike look a bit nicer.

the frame needs respraying so I am ignoring that, but I have some dull looking superchampion rims, which i think are aluminum and I wondered what would be the best way to bring out a good shine?

I also have some old campagnolo hubs/derailleurs/ shifters which look as though they have reacted to something as they all have a nice coating of grey on them. So if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.

many thanks

autosole is good for bringing up alloy you can get it from your local motorist centre.
cheers dave

Solvol Autosol good for the rims but it does leave quite a black deposit which will get into the nooks and crannies of the mechs etc.

Soft Toothbrush and a bit of liquid metal polish is a bit better..

PS If you like I'll take the rims off your hands and save you the bother :)
