Thanks all for help. Feel confident about what I need to do.

Matt - yes, I thought I knew, but just wanted confirmation before I went out and spent any money :lol:

Scilly - don't worry, I didn't think that, I probably should have used a smiley to show I wasn't being funny :)

A freewheel seems a much better idea.

gf ordered me Brooks saddle and matching bar tape for my birthday last night, can't wait to start building!

I keep looking for another one (it was the Forest Green with orange forks) but haven't seen another one yet, and the guy I sold it to doesn't want to sell it back to me :(

Well maybe if I get a road addiction, the gf will force me to make some space and I will sell it to you :lol:

Here it is after I rescued it from about 10 years of loneliness in my mum's garage (nasty bars/brakes have been changed since amongst other things)

I can't find the original forks, I think she must have binned them :(
