Campag Pista Hub Lockring - Size Issue

I have an old set of Campagnolo Record Pista hubs, '70s I think. I believed a Phil Wood lockring wood fit as they use the same threading as Campagnolo ones - 1.32" x 24 tpi - and I'd read everywhere that these work fine. But it seems too small, which is annoying as I had one spare!

It does start to thread on, but binds after barely a half turn. Hub threads look fine, and I can't find mention of a differently threaded - 1.29" x 24 tpi - Phil lockring. The hub does take a standard 1.37" x 24TPI cog. Some kind of strange lockring size? Wanted to check before buying something else. Was considering a Miche cheapie to try, but have heard these are terrible due to softness of metal.

Unfortunately at work so can't get measuring, so appreciate any answers you can give!
