Built back up after a wipe down of the frame and most of the rusty areas of chrome attacked with a soft scourer.

Will need stripping and painting. Probably going to do it myself to as original as possible (note the original Oyster paint colour :) )

Left the front derailleur off for the time being and put some cheap flat pedals i had lying around the garage on as i couldn't get my feet in the toe clips!

On order tomorrow
- 2 new tires
- new brake cables (inner and outer)
- new bar tape (black as per original)
- downtube shifters and cables
- new brake pads
- new rear wheel if current one is deemed too damaged to be trued/repaired

then commence the frame resto!!

Massive update with pics.


I have had a very busy few weeks so work on the bike has been limited. In the last week i have made huge leaps forward. Frame is now painted and nearly all components are either waiting to be put on or on order. hopefully it will be good to ride at the end of next week.

I will take some pics his afternoon.

full can of primer, 2 full cans of black paint, can of lacquer, some red paint mixed for my brothers old volvo to repair stone chips etc.
