I have, over the last couple of months, been on the lookout for a bike for my younger brother (at his request).

After finding not one, but twom nice examples, and buying them, he tells me he has no money as he is going to a wedding in Italy at the end of the month :(

Then his birthday comes up, so I think "he can have his choice of bike for his birthday present".

The choice was between a Dave Yates built Flying Scot (which was bought with Campag, but I changed it all to 105) or a Pinarello Treviso. I hoped he would go for the Pinarello as I could then strip the FS down and get it re-painted etc (the bike is is good condition, the paintwork less so)

So, on Saturday, I put the bike rack on the car and load up the two bikes for the short drive through to his.

He has a ride around on both bikes and declares that he prefers....

The Flying Scot! :(

Grrrrr

So my search for a DY built bike that fits me goes on.....

Where can I get a brother like you?

Oddly enough, I have one of Dave Yates early 80's bikes that he built at M Steel Cycles. I'm not by it at the moment but I think its a 22" frame. If its of any interest drop me a PM.
