Yes the Wiggle ones. The ones your mate linked to are 700c so won't fit.

also, after some rubber hood things to go over some old mafac brake leavers. any ideas?

Not sure is these are what you are looking for regarding the rubber hoods for the mafac levers, mafac hoods are hard to come by

These new levers look like the old mafac version so might look good with the 'new' frame

getting there, o so slowly...

the spokes could do with being replaced, but too expensive at the mo.

campag front derailleur about to be fitted, as well as the original mafac centre pulls

terrible pics:

If you're interested and want to keep the things more original I have proper half-hoods for yours Mafac levers (course 121). They are black and have little cracks and tears, so not perfect but usable. Or you can try your luck on ebay, NOS black hoods: 390505295782 (they are in France, auction ends in 4 days). White hoods or other colour are harder to find, but sometimes appear.
Very interesting bike, it will be very elegant when you finish. Good choice with the saddle, now brown or honey Brooks tape will fit perfectly.
And another small thing you might want: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=232506&highlight=
