My latest acquisition is another example.
Italian as it's spent it's life there.
Just labeled up as a 'RAMPON'
Gipiemme ends.
Every lug has heart cut-outs.
Cut-out and slotted BB.
Heavily fluted seat stay tops
The chain and seat stay ends are almost cowled
Internal rear brake guide
127mm spacing
Recessed brake bolts
Chrome forks
Chrome chain stay

Frame serial number 52 ?

The builder was an ice climbing freak and the "C" dropped off the decals on the frame ??

You're lucky, at least folk show an interest.

"How come all my frames are a mystery?"

Because you buy the ones with no graphics or headbadge.

I like mystery frames. Firstly you pick them up cheap, always a good thing. Secondly there is no psychological attachment to a name i.e the exoticism of Colnago or the Stigma of Halfords Carrera, or it rides great because it's 753 or not so great cos it's only 501 etc.

It's just a bike it is what it is and you just ride it...

The old tat always seems to generate much interest here, whereas interesting or rare items do not - case in point my post viz my Allin; hence my increasing frustration with this forum and my reluctance to enter any of my decent stuff for RBoTM or even show it on reader's bikes.

Oh, but there's that rusty old thing at the bottom of my garden - been there 15 years, that'll generate interest for sure.

Rk :)

"The chain and seat stay ends are almost cowled"

What is meant by "cowled" in this context and is it an indicator of quality or just a nice touch?

A nice touch. A quick glance leads you to think the ends are just cut and unfinished. In fact they are scalloped.
