I have just repaired my drop out after the bottom jockey wheel jumped the chain ,jammed between the derrailleur arm, rotated to the rear ,and snapped the campag dropout at the adjuster hole. I vee'd out through the adjuster hole and welded up with a 316 stainless rod,no idea what alloy of steel campag use ,but stainless usually sorts it,and as I welded , there was no reaction within the weld pool,so I think it's going to be O.K.( those adjuster hole certainly weaken the structure of the dropout )
Anyway,I bought an old 105 off ebay,it was fitted with narrow jockey wheels, they seemed to work fine but not wishing to repeat the last disaster,I fitted new wider jockey wheels to suit the HG70 chain.
Strangely, I think that the narrow jockey wheels, changed smoother than the new one's,any recomendations regarding choice of jockey wheel to chain combination's ?
Cheers
Lee
