specialised allez carbon pro from 90's

Hello all,
One of these things turned up at the local auction and it looks in pretty good nick. I gather that it's from around the early to mid ninety's. It looks like it's all campag bits with cincelli bars. I couldn't take any photo's but it has carbon tubes with aluminium lugs.

I'm certainly tempted, does anyone have any background knowledge on these things and how much a reasonable price would be?
I didn't think that carbon was used much untill the late nineties at least?

Please educate me!
cheers
Wilf

They were introduced in the early 90s and along with the Giant Cadex were the first successful carbon frames from the far east. Built with Campagnolo may suggest a custom-build?

Price-wise, I'd expect to put a value of £100-150 on the frame and wheels plus the rest based on the Campagnolo components

Despite doing plenty of TTs and the odd race BITD I can't say I'm a roadie expert, but I had an Allez Comp (I think) with 105 stuff on it for a while last year and didn't notice it to be harsh. It was pretty heavy compared to a new similar bike but pretty cool looking. The very early ones are know to fail due to bonding issues so if you can check it out and ride it, it would be recommended! Mine was free, and creaked when I got it, but pulling the BB, greasing and re-installed it thankfully solved the problem.
