Where to buy MASI bikes in Europe?

***BigT***

Retro Newbie
I'm looking to buy one or two Italian made MASI's steel bikes, but it seems to be very difficult to get any info in Finland.

Any suggestions where to look at?

Is there a web site for MASI head quarters in Italy?

Thanks in advance,

BigT

Hi,

Masi are based under the Vigorelli in Milan. Due to Masi selling the name to a company in the USA in the 70's they are now called Milano 3v.

Here's the link to the website:- http://milano3v.com/

You have to order through the US company to get an Alberto Masi build frame.

Regards.

Let's straighten this out. Alberto Masi continues to sell Masi frames and bikes from his shop under the Vigorelli. You can contact him directly to purchase a Masi, or in the United States you can purchase an Alberto Masi-sourced frame/bike through Greg Honn, who sells under the Name Milano 3V. Parallel to the Masi bikes sold by Alberto Masi and teh Milano bikes sold by Greg, there are ALSO Masi bikes sold by the successor to the buyer of the Masi name. In fact in the 70's, Falero Masi was paid a princely sum of money for the rights to the Masi name for all markets outside of Italy. The rights to the name have been passed onwards a few times and now belong to a large group that also owns the Haro brand of bikes who market a full range of Masi bikes http://www.masibikes.com/ they sell the bikes in a variety of countries in the world. You can see the exact list here: http://www.masibikes.com/international/

There are however two different companies with two completely different ranges of products. At one time both companies were austensibly selling the same frames but nowadays they are completely distinct.

My question to you is why are you looking for a Masi and which one are you looking for?

I have come to understand that Alberto MASI's steel bikes are not beautiful, but also one of the best Italian brands and quality.

I don't know which models are in production, so its difficult to say what I want - the best steel bike Alberto makes, I quess.

I have one 3 Volumetrica, which I bought second hand, and I just love. But I want to have one new one too.

Hi,

I recenlty contacted Alberto regarding my Masi 3V which was built at the Vigoretlli by Alberto in 1988, made from Excell tubing.

I vistied the Vigorelli about a year ago and Alberto's latest creation was made from Columbus XCR all TIG welded it was beautiful.

Here's Alberto's email address:-

albertomasi@tiscali.it

Good luck
