fitting Suntour Cyclone rear derailleur

Hi everyone

I just found (was given) a Suntour Cyclone Derailleur of days gone by to fit onto my 1973 TI Raleigh Road bike (previous Suntour derailleur, not a Cyclone) was damaged beyond repair during a drop in shed with rear wheel out).

Not being the best mechanic in the world I'm struggling now. Fitted derailleur to frame (with 6 speed cassette fitted), fitted cable into derailleur and it works fine BUT with cable at normal stretch it won't go onto the two larger cogs but at the same time falls off the smaller cog (so gets stuck between cog and frame). is this purely a question of getting to 'hi'/'lo' screws adjusted properly? or is there something going one that I'm missing?

thanks

Martin

yep, the one marked H wants screwing in, the one marked L wants screwing out. Trial and error till it works without overshooting.
then have another go at taking up the cable slack when its on the smallest cog
