Oh I am such a noob!!!! :oops:

If the threads weren't wrecked before then they are now.

Got the cranks off and the left side cup came off easy. The drive side though, was clearly missing a few threads, it wouldn't tighten and there was a few mm of play so that it could be pulled away from the shell slightly and turned in either direction.

Now I've removed one of these before, so should have known better, but i spent an hour in the glorious sun yesterday trying every which way to unscrew it the wrong bloomin way, assuming the threads were that bad it wouldn't catch to start unwinding :) Then it struck me about the reverse threads and sure enough grabbing it between the rim and the spindle hole with some grips and twisting it the proper direction got it off.

Well I'll never forget about reverse threads again will I.

Waiting to hear off Lee Cooper for a price, and have been told of another in Bourneville so will contact him aswell.

Now, where were those pedals that are stuck to the cranks.........

I've got a Mavic BB in my 1975 Quinn, and I believe that's a framesaver. It's fine, no issues.
