as per title folks, i'm trying to get the 'bargain' commuter i bought sorted out and have decided to go onto a flat bar as i don't use the drops at all.

re: brake levers, will the old bmx style canti levers work with the brakes on a roadie?

Yes, you should be fine. It's only V's that don't have the leverage.
