My first SS...all $10 of it

Avanti Gazelle
Frame made in Japan, designed and assembled in New Zealand (early nineties I guess)
I originally picked it up for the parts but after a degrease I kinda like it

Not sure whether I should make it look all flash and erm trendy? or leave it junker looking

The fixed commuter, been through a few iterations.

Pictured it's a bit blinged up with Thomson and Arione but now sporting a matching steel fork, battered Rolls and X-Lite ti flat bars.

Newbie here - Just picked up a nicely aged late 50's early 60's Viking Ian Steel model frame and forks, and I'm thinking of keeping the patina and fixie/ss it back on the road. I'll let ya know how I get on - I'll be back for parts and help no doubt!

PANZR, looks very fresh indeed- as misteroo said, what a difference!

Almost finished building this up-

Hasn't been without it's problems though. Has had a horrific respray at some point, and it looks like someone had the tipex out for the lug lining.

Age is currently unknown, after searching with eagle eyes can only find markings that don't have any relation to online dating references.

Was lucky enough to obtain a couple of '50s track hubs, rear NOS Resillion, and front, used unknown hub. 40/32 on the spoke holes, have built them up on 700s, due to the scarcity of 27s.

Full build pics will comence when stem arrives, and camera is charged!

^ wow, thats some fancy lugs on that Carlton!
What model is it? Is it a Jewel? Although it doesn't look like the one on Classic Lightweights.

It's a Carlton Flyer, with the International lugset- in the 'classic designs' section of Classic Lightweights - http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/de ... on-hs.html

Fingers crossed my stem arrives today of tomorrow so I can take some photos, need some chain tugs before I ride though!
