Le Mans was two weeks ago Panzr :D

I decided I need some longer legs. I'm currently pedalling 48-16 gearing but it's not quite enough. Because of my short drop-outs I can't run a 15T rear even with a half-link chain, because I can't get decent chain tension. I'm going to try a 14T which I'm hoping might be ok with my normal 1/8 chain. I'm not 100% keen to swap to a half-link chain unless I have to.

Le Mans is on my bucket-list!

Most people generally find the colour rather vulgar...fair enough if you don't know your motor racing, I guess
Sometimes even I think it's too much colour for one bike to handle :)

The frame is nothing special at all...just a mid-eighties Tarini Firenza but, it is nice and big for my lanky 6'3" frame

I'm running 52:16 on this and my other fixed gear as well but, could probably handle bigger and might throw on my 15T cog
On another bike I'm running 46:14 and want to go to 48:14 with it

Okay, so I was bored last night and I re-built my 'old' Gulf bike which had been stripped and relegated to a corner of the garage after finishing my new Gulf fixie
Bit of a shame that it's too small for me

I want to also get my other fixie powdered soon because the paint is really rough...colour ideas or keep it black?

My Fleet Velo Joust - a polo-specific design made in the Schwinn Waterford factory. This particular bike finished 5th in the recent National Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships... just sayin'

I gave my Bob Jackson a tweak earlier in the week. I noticed on the Dunwich Dynamo that I was having trouble riding with no hands and the bike would take a dive off to one side and I'd have to hang off the side of it to keep it in a straight line if my hands were off the bars. Looking down, I could see my front wheel was a good 5mm off-centre, so the forks I used to build the wheel must have been slightly out of kilter.

I set about it with the spoke key and put it right, then gave both wheels a tighten all round. Then I swapped it back to the fixed gear, bliss, but I could not get the freewheel back off again. I think I've been lucky before with a hammer and screwdriver in the slots, but I need to buy the right tool.

Waffle aside, the bike feels very different now! I must have been used to it being all on the skew!

Here is my contribution. 66' Peugeot PX-10 converted to single speed its my bar bike, a sleeper not too pretty but rides nice on the 531 tubes. I feel bad saying it is not too pretty because I think it is beautiful patina and all.

Not very pretty!? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I think it is quite the looker. Build is reasonably sympathetic.

finding a stem and seatpost in Tucson Arizona was a bit of a trick especially since I was going as full on budget as I could salvaged a couple of ratty old things to make it ride and all said and done only have about 100USD into it. Thanks for the kind words! Shes a gem in my eyes!

Wuss! I used to ride everywhere on 48/18.

Mark.
