You'd be surprised what some people would pay for ultra rare/rare Campagnolo stuff. There was one mad Japanese businessmen a few years ago on ebay (back in the day when buyer identity wasn't private) who would literally pay an arm and a leg for such stuff.

I wonder if he ever sells anything? £250 for a tubular!!! That's flippin' ridiculous even if it is a silk. I've got 3 of 'em.

If he was knowledgeable one could almost forgive his irrational exhuberance, but he doesn't know what he is talking about most times, plus he is a bit too much of an opportunist for my taste. He has been known to buy parts on forums like this and then turn around and resell the same item on the same forum for double.
