sort of, but not entirely.
some shimano hubs (using steel freehub bodies) will fit 8/9/10 shimnao cassettes. However, some of the premium shimano hubs or wheelsets (probably ultegra and above) are 10 speed only, cos they use alloy freehubs with deeper slots (its not the trench that is deeper, its the bit sticking up that is higher) to give better purchase and safeguard the alloy.
