I've been asked if I want to see a Bob Jackson. The current owner knows it's a handbuilt and paid thirty quid for it, complete that is.
He said there's a transfer on the frame that reads 'something Appleby Messina 1968' obviously it doesn't actually read 'something' but some fellas name.
Any idea what I might be off to look at?

Messina was one of their model names.

Appelby is probably the first owner.

EDIT - adding a page from a period Bob Jackson catalogue.

Doesn't show a lot but it is the 'fastback' style seatstays that set this frame apart in the BJ lineup of the time.

Definitely worth a look and buying if condition and price is right.

Thanks for that, seeing it Tuesday now. Apparently it was stripped of good kit when sold to him? still worth looking at though.
