any idea what frame this is?

i got this frame for £50 from my lbs to build up a winter bike using the components you see in the pic.

i'd love to know what it is now. the clues:

raleigh branded cable router under bb
prugnat lugs
reynolds 531 renovated sticker
only rear mech downtube boss for lever

any ideas anyone?

any clues about the frame number. on first look it looks like a raleigh even before I saw your clue re the bb guide

Yes, definitely looks very Raleigh-esque. Looks like mid-eighties but a bit weird about the missing downtube boss. Maybe someone had it removed when they had the respray. Are the fork crown and rear brake bridge drilled to take recessed allen key brakes?

frame # is 96201

the rear bridge is flat and a nut holds the brake in place.

the fork crown is not drilled for recessed allen bolts but i have managed to fit one subsequent to the rather heath-robinson bolt seen in the photo.

Could also be a sportier Dawes.
