Hello,

I assumed the BB type would be Italian but the Campag BB I bought will not thread in. Can anyone confirm the type of BB used by ALAN.

The one I had was Italian threaded - but it was a 1980s model. I know it was Italian because the non-drive side kept unscrewing.

BSC have a left hand threaded fixed cup, whilst Italian is right hand threaded on both sides.

Have a look at the threads and see which way they go.

Took frame into LBS after the Italian BB would not fit and it turns out according to LBS spanner my early 1970's Italian ALAN is English thread!!

The frame has no braze ons so it's just got to be fixed.
