I bought a couple of used, old AB77 151 BCD Williams Chainrings.
Both meant to be 1/8 but measuring them I'm now not 100% sure.

A stupid question, but, can someone just confirm where to measure, bearing in mind I only have a steel rule and no calipers right now.

Do you measure the thickness of the ring, at a point on the outside edge, at the bottom of a tooth?
Or can you measure on the other side from the teeth, on the inside edge of the ring, where there obviously isn't any wear affecting things.

Thank you, appreciate the help

Does a 3/32 chain fit on them? If not, they're 1/8.

I believe it is OK to run a 1/8 chain on 3/32 rings and sprockets which is what I will be doing when I get my 'fixie' up and running. I have a selection of both size sprockets so will need to!

Yeah, i run a 3/32 ring and 1/8 sprocket and chain with no issues.

Seems to fit a 3/32 chain. Would it be very obvious and totally not fit the chain if it's an 1/8th ring?

Probably, there's only 1/32 in it but it's enough to make the difference.
