Guess the weight difference -old vs newish seat pillars

Re:

for me it was just the surprise element. I really expected the 35 year old kit to be double the weight.

Strip the paint off the Record then polish it over-enthusiastically for a couple of days and I reckon you could get it down to nearly 219g.

Re:

And suntour mechs. I came across a suntour vx and did a double take when I picked it up. Didn't weigh it, so can't quantify, but this was a mid-rent touring mech

Was out on a ride and the not that old Tiagra mech was bendier than Benson the Bendy Barman - luckily it was so bendy otherwise I would have had to have ridden home with about 3 gears

Out of interest is that Campag seat post for sale?

Yes old stuff can be remarkably light, I don't think rear mechs get any lighter than a Huret Jubilee circa early/mid 70s.

How much for a 90-120gram post though? Even the £200 ones I could see are 150g or more...
Oh, twice that, we're talking not much change from 350 quid.

But still, top of the range, is still top of the range!
