Some advice needed! Peugeot PRO-Team road bike.

Kingyyyyy

Retro Newbie
Hey everyone!
First post on the forum after browsing around for a bit!

I’m after a ‘new’ classic road bike!
I’ve saw an old Peugeot ‘Pro-Team’ road bike for sale;
It’s mainly yellow with black forks, ‘weld’ points and black Peugeot decals.
White tyres, also, original?
Looks barely ridden, too!

Anyone have any advice on buying, checking over, avoiding or even some information on it!

Re:

I would avoid it unless you just want a bike for bombing around the streets , Peugeot made billions of low end bikes ( the PRO team being one of them )that are not up to much HOWEVER higher up the Peugeot range the Reynolds framed models were very nice indeed and good ones still in demand. As a decent base You should be able to find a 501 / 531 framed example for not too much, if you have a decent frame then you can always upgrade components as you go along.
Dont get me wrong , if you like the bike go for it but its just with a bit more searching and not necessarily more money you can find a bargain with a decent frame ( Peugeots low end cheapy frames were badged HLE or 103 tubing ) . Hope this helps
