Help - Curved seat stays or damage?

Well, you kind of answered your own question.

A curve is ..... a curve. Rounded with a visable tangent. Any framebuilder would make this pleasurable to the eye
claiming to give a bit more road vertical compliance and comfort.

What you have is a kink (in a straight piece of steel tube).
 
Is it only me that’s amused by the arse crashing down the hill with a potty on his head!
