Bottles are about £35 each. Different dimension to the old ones, so they fit modern cages.

I have a number of the 1940s and 50s cages, so that counts me out.
Unusual to market a replica metal bottle for a modern cage.
 
TBH, I don't think many people took 'rehydration' very seriously BITD - if they even knew what it was! I can remember riding 50 mile TT's without a bottle and only having one (and only drinking about half of it) in 100's. Perhaps if I had known how important it is I might have been World Champion.....................

Frame mount cages were only clamp-on for many years, braze-on bosses are (to me!!) relatively new.......................

Old Ned, thanks for chipping in! Honestly I suppose that's what I was expecting given that provision for frame mounted bottles wasn't as standard.

Regarding "the look" for my current ride, I think I'll stick a bottle of pop in a saddle bag and stop for a swig when the occasion calls.
