Hi all,
I'd like to upgrade the downtube shifters of my Peugeot P8 as they don't hold the position and I have to keep on adjusting it if I don't want to gradually shift to higher gears as I go.
Any suggestion? The stock shifters look like poor quality items, made of plastic. Ideally I'd mount an indexed shifter but I'm not sure I can without changing other components too, which I don't want to do.
Is there such thing as a friction shifter that holds the position? I guess so or nobody would use them.
