Raleigh Special Products Road frame is it 853?

Retro Newbie
Hi, Just wondering if anyone can help me with identification of this frame. I mean it looks like it's 853 from the sticker but there's no "proper" 853 decal. Headset is Shimano 600 so I guess that makes it late 80's or early 90's. The headset looks as if it is original and was extremely difficult to remove. Maybe it's a special products frame made for "E. Baxter". I've ploughed through several pages of searching on 853 and M Trax and RSP links but cannot see anything which quite matches this.
Seatpost socket diameter is around 27.0mm but that could be a 27.2mm that's been crimped at the top.It weighs around 1700 grams with the headset cups in place..without I guess it would be closer to 1600grams.

Probably Elliot Baxters old team bike. And that "pro-line" sticker is mid 90s.

I had a similar one on a 96 or 97 Raleigh.

Re: Raleigh 853 ..elliott baxter?

Thanks,
He seems to have been in the team in 1997. The 1997 catalogue has a frame which looks similar in respect of the fact that the 853 road frames have a seat pin size of 27.0mm and they also have fork geometry which looks like the one I've got, along with the little brazed on fitting for a number...

Now I can maybe repaint it in a slightly more tasteful colour scheme... :?
