Help with 80's French frame date...

Picked this up a couple of weeks ago - previous owner said he had it built in 1982 - tubing in Super Vitus 980.

I'm not totally convinced he has the right date - lugless frame in '82 with internal brake cables?

Came with Campag Nuovo Record group - unfortunately rear derailleur is mavic so date stamp!

Any input appreciated - cheers Dave

Hi Dave, Hope I have interpreted your question correctly but It was definately `De rigeur` to do the aero look in the early 80`s. Most of the big volume manufacturers had at least one aero styled bike in their catalogues including the French big players like Motobecane, Gitane and of course Peugeot , I had a peugeot `aero` 1982 centenary edition bike with the features you mention. Even in England Viscount had long been producing their internally brazed lugless `aerospace` frames. There were countless french frame manufacturers in those days , do you know what your frame is supposed to be ?

Re:

I've researched the net - and there are plenty of Pugs etc. made with Super Vitus 980 - but hadn't found anything lugless - until you mentioned the Centenary Edition.

The previous (elderly) owner was quite specific with his info - year 1982, maker - cycles Rémi Jamin and built in SV980.

I was thinking that it looked more like something from around the 1984 mark - which would perhaps make it SV983 - I'm just in the process of looking for the right transfers so it would be good to know.
