I have a Bob Griffin frame (they're no great shakes but it is straight and mostly 531) being resprayed at Argos, which will become a shamelessly hipster singlespeed. Campag Record hubs and Dia-Compe GC700 brakes, Brooks Swallow, cowhorns with Dia-Compe 188 levers...you hate it already :-)

Hey guys,

Thought I would share my build now that it is pretty much finished.

Started off life as a heidemann werke einbeck touring bike.

I bought the frame part finished, I wanted an old looking bike with new components and the rusty look which was laqured to prevent further wear was perfect.

I stumbled at the first hurdle as I struggled to find a suitable bottom bracket. I ended up going for a bb30 adaptor and got it professionally machined to fit. Rather than settling for an old school square taper or worse yet the cup/all in one BB/cranks that this frame came with.

I bought truvativ cranks and a 2nd hand 1980s double chain ring which I adapted to a single and coupled it with a gold chain.

The wheels are 50mm no label flip flop hubs and a single front brake. I wanted an integrated front brake cable and an old school brake situated on the drops. I replaced the old headset with new style integrated ball barings. I went for a dawes saddle on an old reconditioned seat post.

Think this is pretty much the finished product. Comments would be very much appreciated
