Hey
I've acquired an almost complete BSA Gold Crest. I've dated it as late 1950s / early 1960s. The Sturmey Archer GH6 dynohub would be late 50s and the Raleigh branded chainset would suggest late 50s early 60s.
Some time in the late 70s it seems to have been upgraded with a 5-speed huret (pre-Sachs takeover) eco rear derailleur.
My question, I've found a catalogue for a 1938 Gold Crest which detailed Reynolds 531 tubing. Despite mine weighing a ton, could it be 531? It's not badged as it but neither was the 1938
And info on a gold crest gratefully received
