Hi, I have a number of old french bikes, and french ebay is generally a sound place to get 'run of the mill' components, just ensure you know what the threads are that you are after, as there are a number of local variations especially with the older components. Good luck with the build. Terry

Peugeot were a large volume manufacturer, so the threads "should" be a standard. The other option, I suppose is to convert to UK threads.

I have just spoken to a frame builder who assures me he can restore the thread sufficiently for use.

Time will tell......

This poor bike has been abused in the recent past. I was stripping out the transmission and bearing elements yesterday. Every thing was covered in blasting medium. The whole bike has been blasted and painted a dark blue colour. When I say whole bike, even the handlebars and hubs.. :x

I did find some original black paint under the brake guide mountings, so I now know what colour I will paint it, but what to do about the hubs and handlebars? Galvanic paint maybe?

It will live, but what an existence it has had.
