Hi All,

My friend has just gifted me a very nice 1980s Japanese made Bianchi project with a modern twist.

The frame is made with Ishiwata 022 steel tubing and has been modified by Bob Jacksons cycles to 130mm rear spacing and to accept modern allen key brakes etc and re-sprayed in stunning metallic viola with white transfers. He claims it was a 1980s anniversary special that was originally equipped with Shimano 105.

My friend wanted to build a classic that he could use every day with 10 speed Japanese running gear (the modern equivalent of what the bike would have had in the day. So far it has a Shimano 105 10 speed crank, rear mech and front mech, Tiagra brifters, and a set of 32H Tiagra hubs that have been built on to polished Rigida Chrina rims.

My question is? id it worth continuing to go down this restomod route or return it to more like it's original state?
