I can't Identify my new (old) Look vintage road bike!!

Falko

Retro Newbie
Hi there, thanks in advance if anyone can be of any assistance!
Recently bought what is supposedly an early 80''s French Look Road bike (in pieces).
The bike has been painted at some point during its life and I am having a huge amount of trouble identifying the model, of if it is even a genuine Look frame!!
Can anybody help!? I have spent literally hours trawling the Internet and the thing that had stopped me giving up all together is the fact that the rear brake mounting point is cube/dice shaped which match images of Bernard Hinault 1986 Looks. But the forks don't, and neither do the Reynolds 531 stickers (which look like they have been painted around during the new terribe paint job). The Bernard Hinaults were from what I understand Reynolds 731 tubing.
The reason I need to know is so I can use it in this year's eroica as it needs to be pretty 1987. I am hoping it is just before or pretty much on the nose, the reason I say this is the frame looks to be not much older than that era and the fact that it supposedly came fitted with shimano 105 groupset which came out in 1986.
Any help really appreciated, thanks again if antone can help!

Here are the images...Is this a Vintage Look? Model? Anything? https://imgur.com/gallery/4ISzZ

No idea if it's a LOOK, but the brake bridge is nothing special at all and ones like that can be found a many different frames

I wouldn't worry about the 1987 L'Eroica date. Tell them it's a 1985 and they wouldn't be able to tell, especially if it hasn't got any name on it. It looks like a generic '80's road frame to me. Could be anything.

It's annoying because if I'm going to spend the time and money putting a bike back on the road I want to be putting it back to its original state (or as close as possible). If I knew it WAS a genuine Look frame and that was it I would be tempted to do some sort of a tribute to the Bernard Hinault bikes, but otherwise I might just look for a new frame I know the history of to put the 105 groupset on.

Flat back the downtube with 400 grade paper and I bet you will find the original transfers. It will take a while and be tedious. I can't see anything about it that suggests Look to me.

+1
I'm not a Look specialist but it seems extremely unlikely
have a look ( pun intended  ) at Google images for "look steel frame" and compare  - first assessment "looks bad"
