Vintage Falcon...anyone help with age / or model?

Dirt Disciple
Hi all. I've been entrusted with finding a home for some vintage road bikes, but as a mountain biker I'm out of my comfort zone :?
This Falcon appears to have no frame number and a Columbus tubeset. A couple of photos showing lugs but can add more detail of those if that helps. It is very nice but the boss declares that n+1 has been exhausted and i have taken them on the basis that they are worth something and i am to help sell for the relatives of the old guy who evidently cherished them. Any advice welcome as I haven't a clue regarding model or age.
Planning to put on the bay when I know how to describe it...along with a Holdsworth Monsoon that I have succeeded in identifying. Cheers.

Re:

I have no idea what model, but that's a nicely made frame with some quality parts fitted.

I'd risk a guess at very late 1970's to early 80's, but the much better informed will be along presently to no doubt give you far more detail.

Thanks for the opinion......Sounds a likely sort of age to me. Looking at the pics again they don't show the lugs that well. Will take a couple more around bb area later today.... There's interesting detail around the little brace between the chain stays. Was wondering whether a lack of frame number could point at a custom build...Or just my poor eyesight?

A couple more pics to enlighten the educated. Still no sign of a frame number though. Oh...and a quick shot of the Holdsworth. Did I mention that they will probably be on eBay very soon ;) ;)

Re:

Try them both in the classifieds here first.

The Falcon looks great...... I must be strong....

It's mechanically excellent. Could do with new cables and bar tape and is missing a brake block!!!!. A few frame scrapes from storage and a little rust on stone chips and cable rub. The tubs have held air after an unknown storage period and hubs, headset and bb all spot on. Fair to say the Holdsworth has suffered the winter months and needs a bit more TLC but it is 50yrs +

The Holdsworth measures 21.5" centre to centre (and the Falcon 21"). Not sure whether to sell the Holdsworth stripped back with some vintage track wheels I also got (as a restoration project for some hipster) or possibly as a frame and fork only. I've already removed some rx100 calipers which I didn't think we're inkeeping. Decisions decisions....

I'm sure that can be arranged. Can you pm me a contact number or email. Let me know where abouts in the land of beauty you are.
