Single freewheels and 5, 6, 7 speed blocks

Is the threaded part of a single freewheel the same width as the threaded part of a 5, 6 or 7 speed freewheel?

i.e. if I got an old set of wheels with, say, a 6 speed block, could I take it off and put on a single threaded freewheel without needing to make any other alterations? Sorry if this is a dumb or obvious question but I've only ever used cassette bodies before

The threaded part on the single freewheel might be the same width but you'll end up with a large amount of exposed axle with spacers on and a less than ideal chain line.

Mark.

Re:

Same thread. You might want to shift the axle spacers and redish the wheel to do it properly, but you don't have to.
