how do you say 'hei hei' ??

Ever since way back when, have always said..

'hay hay'

but hear some call it...

'hee hee'

Any ideas on how it should be said??

Ringle - Ring-lay or Ring-gull?
USE - You-Ess-Ee or Yooz?
Syncros - Sin-Cross or Sin-Croze

I always say
'Ring-lay'
'You Ess ee'
'Sin Crose'

So this must be right

I was in Evans at London Bridge yesterday afternoon and some geezer comes in and asks if they do Ringle (Ringul) and the shop assistant said he'd never heard of it. He wasn't that young either. (the assistant) Poor geezer matey left looking well dejected.

In Hawaiian all vowels are pronounced individually.

Whether that is correct Hawaiian, who knows, but it's phonetically how Kona named their stead.

I always thought it was "Hi Hi"*

Defo "Rin-glay" though, it's American French..

* like the German, pronounce the last vowel in any "i" "e" combination.. But I guess that doesn't work given the Hawaiian heritage of "Kona" :?

Me too! "Hei" means "hi" or "hello" in Finnish and since we pronounce words like they're written, it's "Hei Hei" (you would say "Hey Hey").
