and 3 sets of magura brakes, one modern set hs3 evo II (which came with the bike and i don't like) and two pairs of race line yellows of which one is the first series with the red knob :

and the second is the follow up of this series :

Which race-line would you mount ???

i'd hunt down a tractor bladed hs22, but that doesnt help you.

what dont you like about the 33's?

I'd do one of the following:

a) build another couple of bikes to make use of each set of brakes

or)

b) work out which performs better and which lever length I prefer and decide on that basis.

That's the problem, both perform well. the oldest were the first set i owned and the other ones i've owned in red.....the newer series respond a bit faster though.

The lever on the evo II's are too close to the bar, and i don't like the looks.
initially i didnt like that either, but with a little use i learned to like em

anybody know if i can run a hs66 lever on a disc caliper?

There is a chance it will work unless de discbrakes require a reservoir, you'll have to try i guess....

learned to like the 33's. i love my 22's big blades, was thrown off by the short blades of the 33's but after using em for a while i kinda like em.

ah ok, well i like both sets of yellow hs33's (short and long bladed) i'm so used to them i really can't get used to the latest hs33 evo II's,

I mean these :
