restoring vintage Syncros post

I have a very nice Syncros post from around 1994. It is virtually scratch free and still looks the works. It's just that the decals are a little worn. Is there a way to restore those? Were they painted on, or are the a kind of decal?

Are you sure? It looks more like it's painted on. I have several Thomson posts on other bikes and the Thomson logo is not as white as the Syncros logo. Maybe a combination of machining and painting?

its not a standard decal, it wouldnt adhere to the uneven machined surface. thomson is spark eroded of some kind.

syncros

Didn't the early ones have white vinyl stickers, like the stems have, running vertical down the back?

the real early 1s yeh.
B3, the logo is spark eroded.

imagine a wet paint style decal. applied wet it conforms to the uneven surface.
hell dont stress it over a decal, everyone will know its a syncros post :)
