Went to collect a CX frame for my wife and found the holy grail. This guy is one of the original from this country.

In his collection he has a beautiful 1984/5 Trek, lugged frame and fork with way slack angles
Unfortunately its been kept running with what ever has been lying around so the running gear is modernish and arse.

Also a 1987/8? Shogun team prestige, most of the original XT group is there, seatpost is NOT seized!!!

I had pretty much decided that my collection was complete but a Klunker would be tops, So I'm leaning towards the Trek

Ideas

I went for the Shogun but would have clicked the both button if there had been one

I'd go the Shogun. The old team frames weren't a bad ride. Not had anything to do with early Treks, so I can't really comment.

I'd go trek though it pains me to say it. First flight had posted one a while back and it was rather nice. Sounds a great project too whereas the Shogun sounds done.
