There used to be an advert displayed at the bottom of the forum for a company that made/sold D locks with an alarm built in, can any one point me in the direction of said advertiser.

Also has any one got any experience of them? Do they give many false positives?

Are they any good as a lock?

Idea is both my self and the chap living upstairs above me lock our back wheels to the our frames with decent locks, then get an alarmed lock to lock both the bikes together either through the frames or through the locks.

The bikes are stored on an internal landing and with no anchor point to lock to. The stairs are quite tight and winding and the thought is that if the 2 bikes are shackled together there will be little to no chance of getting them down the stairs in one bound up lump, without sounding the alarm lock.

Personally my suggestion was to wire them into the mains supply.

I was looking today. Starting price is £50 alarm goes up to 100db. the site (seems to be) is shown at the bottom of the page when you post a comment.

In the boaty world I live in, there's quite a popular alarmed cable lock.
Does what it says, but the batteries go flat.
I had one that had a movement sensor, but it was very sensitive so if my bike fell over I woke everyone up and made myself very unpopular.
