ALPINESTARS AL MEGA DX front derailleur help

Hello I am new to this forum and to cycling. I am purchasing an ALPINESTARS AL MEGA DX tomorrow for $100.00 USD, however it is missing the front derailleur, I have a clamp on Deore DX, but this seat tube looks like it may use a braze on style derailleur...............If anyone knows the type of front derailleur I need please help me, I am trying to decide on my offer for purchase price.

i know the almega dx i used to have had small curved tab welded to the seat tube that the front der bolted to---kind of a goofy setup---tho mine was intact, they were known to snap off---maybe thats what happened there if it has (had) the same setup---i imagine a clamp around type would work with mods, but if it has that seat tube with the bend in it, maybe not, as it would position it too far forward?? tough call.. good luck with possible purchase

What you'll need is an 'endless clamp' style front mech, similar to this one:

except probably a bottom pull version. You then get rid of the band and just bolt the mech onto the clamp on the frame. It is not a Roadie braze on mech, that won't work with this frame.
