Yes, that is interesting, but I'm not sure those 1989 specifications are applicable to the form of Columbus Max OR that was used in later years on the Kona Explosif and the Serrotta T-Max (and I think Roberts used it as well?)

For one thing, the tube gauges published by Kona for Max OR are the same as the 1989 road form of Max. And the weight of an Explosif is slightly less than the 1.9kg quoted for Max and way less than the 2.18kg quoted for Max OR.

And I wouldn't say the shape was particularly orthogonal, which I take to mean a rounded rectangle. I would say it is a pure oval, and the real point about it is not mentioned there, which is that the tubes are bi-ovalised.

For all those who despise Konas, here's something for you to enjoy despising. The bi-ovalising is shown fairly well.
